The travel restrictions put in place to prevent the coronavirus pandemic from spreading are being relaxed gradually. In accordance with the decision of the Finnish government on 4 May 2020, commuter traffic, other necessary traffic and the return of Finnish citizens to Finland may be resumed on Thursday 14 May 2020. A justification of the necessity of the commute will no longer be necessary. This decision will also make it easier for family members to see each other.
Several shipping companies have opened their ticket sales. Leisure trips will not be permitted as of yet.
Strict border control measures will continue on Finnish borders as of 14 May for the time being.
Read the instructions for border traffic issued by the Border Guard.
Both ports and shipping companies are prepared for the gradual and safe return to passenger traffic in many ways. We are working in close cooperation with the authorities to ensure that traffic can resume safely. Passengers should also familiarise themselves with instructions issued by the authorities and comply with the hygiene and health regulations put in place by the authorities.
