There will be changes and diversions to the public transport services of Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) in the summer due to street and track works. The works will above all affect tram services on routes 2, 7 and 9. There will also be changes to train services, for example, due to railway bridge repair work in Pukinmäki. Detailed information about individual service changes will be published closer to the commencement of work at sites. Detailed timetables for all services, including changes and diversions, are available in the Journey Planner approximately four weeks ahead.
TheKoivusaari Metro Station will be closed for resurfacing of platform floors from 1 June. Trains will pass the station without stopping. The resurfacing work will be conducted in such a manner that Metro timetables and the Metro operation via the station will not be affected. 15 June to 12 July: No tram service toLänsi-Pasila, replacement bus 2X to run between Lasipalatsi and Pasila. Tram route 2 will be diverted from Monday, 15 June, and there will be no tram service between Pasila Station and Eläintarha. This section will be served by replacement bus 2X, which will run between Lasipalatsi and Pasila. Street work in Itä-Pasila starting on 29 June will divert tram routes 7 and 9 until 12 July and change the route of replacement bus 2X in Itä-Pasila.
The terminus of tram 7 will move to Ratapihantie, next to Pasila Station, on 15 June, when tram routes 2 and 7 will be separated. From 12 July, when the diversion ends, tram 2 will run a loop via Itä-Pasila back to Pasilansilta in front of the station, and tram 7 will terminate on Ratapihantie. The timetables for other tram routes will also change on 15 June.
Repairwork on a railway bridge in Pukinmäki over Ring Road I to affect train serviceson the main line from 15 June to 9 August. There will be minor changes of up to ten minutes to the departure and arrival times of most long-distance trains at the Helsinki, Pasila and Tikkurila stations. VR’s R trains will operate a reduced service due to the bridge work during the summer, running every 60 minutes. However, R trains will run more frequently at peak times. Additional bus services will be provided between Kerava, Järvenpää and Saunakallio to supplement train services during this time. There will also be changes to the departure times of Z trains. In addition, K trains will operate an exceptional service during the summer, running every 20 minutes.
Thediversions of tram route 6/6T and bus routes 21 and 23N in the Hietalahti areawill be discontinued and the trams and buses will resume their normal routes from Monday, 20 July. In other words, tram 6 will resume running to Hietalahti and tram 6T to West Terminal via Bulevardi starting on 20 July. The Hietalahti section of the routes has been closed since March due to the construction of tracks to Hernesaari.
